What about pigmentation loss ?

August 28, 2015

Up until recently, the options for dealing with scars and pigmentation loss have been limited, ineffective, and unsatisfactory. But now, with Dominique’s NanoColor Infusion treatments, skin issues, such as white spots, scars, and cases of Vitiligo, can be effectively and beautifully camouflaged.

NanoColor Infusion is a quick, aesthetically pleasing, and efficient solution with little downtime.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

DOES NANOCOLOR INFUSION WORK WITH CAMOUFLAGING BROWN SPOTS ?

NanoColor Infusion camouflage is extremely effective on white skin, particularly on white scars and on the white spots known as hypopigmentation. However, it is not effective on brown spots (or sunspots), either on people with white or ethnic skin.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I TAN DURING THE SUMMER?

If you tan during the summer, you might see a slight difference in color, but it will still be a dramatic improvement compared to the highly contrasting white scar visible before treatment. When your tan fades, the color will match perfectly once more. If this is a concern, I suggest wearing spray tan and using a maximum SPF total sunblock, if possible.

CAN NANOCOLOR INFUSION BE PERFORMED ON BURNED SCAR TISSUE?

Yes. In fact, NanoColor Infusion works wonders at camouflaging fully healed burned scar tissue.

I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN. CAN YOU BLEND MY WHITE SPOTS TO MATCH MY COMPLEXION?

This can be achieved as long as your white spots are not due to a condition called “Active Vitiligo,” where the skin discoloration migrates, changing its location. Vitiligo is an extremely mysterious skin condition. When it first appears, there is
a possibility that the discoloration will migrate and shift location, meaning that a patch of Vitiligo may suddenly go back to normal and a new, white, discolored skin patch will appear in a different place, in either an identical or a different shape and size each time. This is what I call “Active Vitiligo,” and NanoColor Infusion cannot be an option for treatment because treating a white patch of skin that may return to its original color would result in a permanently darker patch of skin. In short, to be eligible for this procedure, the Vitiligo-affected areas must be stable, meaning they cannot have shifted or changed in at least five years.

HOW BIG OR SMALL MUST THE BURN SCAR BE IN ORDER FOR NANOCOLOR INFUSION TO WORK?

Any size of burn can be covered, as long as the area is fully healed. When the scarred area is extensive, it is divided into multiple sections. Each section is fully completed before we move on to the next one. Depending on the type of scar—first degree, second degree, or third degree with a graft—NanoColor Infusion also offers two additional benefits: that of smoothing scar corrugation as well as releasing some of the contraction caused by the scar tissue. This treatment is particularly effective on skin grafts.

WILL I HAVE LOTS OF DOWNTIME?

With this procedure, expect some redness depending on your particular skin’s sensitivity. In some clients, the redness can last as little as an hour, whereas in more sensitive individuals, it may last one day or two.
